Online tool forecasts women’s risk of hair loss

Women fearing hair loss hair can now assess their risk through a unique online analytical tool developed by the manufacturers of a caffeine-based shampoo, proven to stem female alopecia.

The “hairoscope”, developed by German company, Dr Wolff, manufacturers of Plantur39 Phyto-Caffeine shampoo which promotes hair growth and slows hair loss in women, is based on scientific research and analyses the most important influencing factors in hair growth and loss.

By answering 14 simple questions here, women now have access to an immediate analysis on the state of their hair roots so that, if necessary, they can start a targeted course of treatment for both scalp and hair roots, said Dr Adolf Klenk, head of research and development at Dr Wolff.

“The hairoscope shows how important preventative care is for women,” said Dr Klenk, adding that the hairoscope forecast should be re-evaluated every six months as diet, stress, hormonal changes and the scalp’s condition can change from month to month.

Millions of women the world over lose hair after menopause, largely due to decreasing estrogen which protects roots against the male hormone, testosterone. After menopause, estrogen levels drop and the impact of testosterone increases, sometimes resulting in a receding hair line, hair becoming thinner and hair falling out.

Plantur39 contains a Phyto-Caffeine complex which penetrates the hair follicles, providing them with sufficient growth energy and preventing testosterone from attacking the roots. This discovery is impacting on thousands of women in Europe who have discovered the positive effects of using Plantur39 Phyto-Caffeine Shampoo, the best-selling female hair loss brand in Germany.

Prior to launching, the products were tested at the Clinic for Dermatology and Dermatological Allergology at Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, and at the hair practice of adjunct professor Dr Gerhard Lutz. During both applications, the test subjects noticed a significant reduction in hair loss.

Surveys in various European countries show that about one in four women are affected by hair loss, while in Germany, more than one in seven elderly women are acutely affected.

Plantur39 is available at Clicks, Dis-Chem and at large pharmacies.
