Pro Team Liv-Plantur donates R20 000 to SA development cyclist

Plantur, sponsor of professional international female cyclists, Team Liv-Plantur, on Saturday handed R20 000 and cycling kit to rising SA star, Zanele Tshoko, as a contribution to cycling development in SA.

Team Liv-Plantur has entered four riders in the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge on Sunday, 15 November. They are among three female pro international teams in the race for the first time in its 19-year history.

Plantur identified Tshoko — from pro SA Team, Rand Water — and the Velokhaya Life Cycling Academy — which promotes cycling and education among disadvantaged communities – as the recipient of a cash and kit donation to give back to the sport in SA.

“We believe Zanele and Velokhaya Life Cycling Academy are worthy recipients and we hope to take our association further in the future,” said Plantur spokesperson, Michael Seefeldt.

Tshoko is currently the Western Province road cycling champion with several podium finishes this season. She recently represented SA at the All Africa Games in Congo.

She said she was thrilled with the donation which would go towards additional kit and race entry fees.
